It is issued through GE Money Bank a FDIC member. Additional services are provided through the Green Dot Corporation.
This means that you can load or deposit money on your card by using a Green Dot Money Pak. These are available at retailers nationwide.
You can also deposit money through direct deposit, a bank transfer, and even at a Walmart cash register. At the register you can load cash, check, or just part of a check.
With your card you can also use bill pay. This will allow you to pay all your bills with just a few clicks of the mouse.
And this is issued as a Visa card and gives you the Visa Zero Liability Policy. This means that if you lose your card or it is stolen your money will still be safe.

Walmart Money Card - Recommendation
Unfortunately, no we can not give our seal of approval to the Walmart Prepaid Money Card. This is for a variety of reasons.
- Fees
- This card charges you $3 just to be issued the card. In addition to load money with a Green Dot Money Pak it is going to cost $4.95 for the pak and then you will also be charged a reload fee.
If you load money at a register with a check you will pay a check cashing fee and a reload fee. Also bill pay is not free.
- No Credit Building
- This card does not offer any form of credit reporting. There are many other prepaid credit cards that will give you credit reporting and free bill pay.
There are many good prepaid cards available, however this is not one of them. We have no doubt that this will become a vastly popular card because of the name recognition and easy availability.
However it is one of the most expensive cards and offers the fewest benefits!
Instead consider some of your other options for a prepaid credit card.
